Screening

Chemical and genetic high content screening involves the automated collection of quantitatively interpretable fluorescence images from cells. This requires robotically driven liquid handling workstations and fully automated microscopes for preparation and acquisition. Automated high-speed image processing tools are required to quantify biological processes and advanced statistical analysis is used to mine the vast amounts of generated data.

Thermo SP Workcell

MacBiophotonics houses a complete suite of systems for preparation and acquisition of high content screening experiments. Systems include state-of-the-art high throughput liquid handling robotics and high content screening systems.

Liquid handling and post-treatment sample processing is achieved using a Thermo SP-Workcell (more) and high content screening is performed with a custom FLIM-capable Perkin Elmer Opera (more).

Images are stored directly from the instruments to a large server array. Analysis is performed locally using high-end workstations.
