Fees
Fees are calculated based on use
and booking.
The billable time is calculated
based on the time the system is unavailable to others. This is calculated from
the time the system is booked and the time it is used. For example, if a system
is booked from 9am-noon but used from 10am until 2pm then the billable period is
9am until 2pm.
The billable period is calculated
automatically by comparing each user's booking and workstation logon/off events.
This means if one user books a system and another uses it, there will be two
billable events where there should be one. Users must book their own events to
avoid double charges.
The minimal billable event is 30
minutes.
Invoices will be sent out each
quarter (Mar, Jul, Sept, Dec) and money be deducted a month later to allow for
queries.
Money will be deducted from each
user's account (supplied at the time of registration) each quarter (end of
March/Jun/Sept/Dec). If there has been a change of account number since
registration, please ensure a new number is supplied to facility staff. The
account numbers will be included on the monthly 'billable-event' report - please
check them.
While the facility-staff make every
effort to ensure the proper functioning of the systems in the facility,
we cannot be held financially responsible for lost data or time as a
result of equipment malfunction.
The aim of the billing
schedule is to cover facility costs, not to stifle science. Contact facility
staff for a formal billing schedule for grant applications or any help with the
fee schedule.
