MS Windows installation:
1. Uninstall or rename current ImageJ.
2. Download ~20Mb MBF_ImageJ.exe
3. Run program to install.
The installation adds shortcut to Desktop, adds menu items and adds ImageJ to
registry. ImageJ automatically sets the memory allocation when it is first
started thanks to George Silva's modifications of the ImageJ.exe launcher
file.
If
you receive an error at the end of the installation it probably means that you
do not have administrative rights on the machine and ImageJ cannot be registered
in the registry. ImageJ should still run OK but you will not be able to
associate it with file types (see below).
4. See
Online Manual for information about collection and the authors of the
plugins in the collection.
Files can be associated with
ImageJ by:
a. Right-click on file;
b. Select pop-up menu item "Open With/Choose Program"
c. Select "ImageJ" from list and check the "Always use this program..."
checkbox.
When you double-click on this file
type it should now automatically use
ImageJ as the viewer.
Mac and Linux users 1. Download your OS specific
version of ImageJ from the
ImageJ website.
2. Download
MBF_ImageJ.zip (~17Mb) and unzip to
ImageJ folder.
(This contains only the plugins, IJ preferences, Macros, LUTs and plugin
source code).
3. For Mac: The
IJPrefs.txt
file needs to be moved to the Library/Preferences folder in your
home directory.
4. Set memory allocation to 66%
system RAM. Menu command: "Image/Edit/Memory" .
